Leopard geckos are desert roaming reptiles that eat a variety of creatures smaller than themselves, such as crickets, wax worms, meal worms, and occasionally pinkie mice. Sand substrate is the most natural for a leopard gecko and offering them a 10 gallon tank to roam will keep them happy and healthy, they are mostly nocturnal and it is best to mimic day and night schedules with correct bulbs.
Although Leopard geckos are desert dwelling reptiles and get most of their water requiem nets through their prey they will need a shallow water dish provided for them at all times. Leopard geckos may need help shedding as well, the best thing for this is what is called a 'shed box', which is essentially a small plastic container with a hole cut on the top filled with moist coconut fiber soil. This 'shed box' should be misted a few times a week to ensure it retains some humidity.
